Thorcrank

This idea mainly came from a friend of mine, who after seeing the previous Noctemplar idea, came up with this additional Starcraft and League crossover.

As I've previously mentioned on a few submissions prior to this, when it comes down to things like this, my strengths really aren't in drawing from scratch, so I used a strategy much akin to the methodology I used for Noctemplar.

The idea was to gather some images based on the subjects, the Thor from Starcraft and obviously Blitzcrank from LoL, and then combine them both into something similar to what I was after, then proceed to use that as a base for the outlines and texturing.

Since I obviously drew massively on the material I used, I don't want to claim it as my own, so credit goes to:

It seems like he did a ton of modelling for a majority of Starcraft and his work is great, although this isn't the original picture used, (seen here: [link]) it probably stems from his work anyway.

While I'm not really sure on the original artist here, I think this was a previous Blitzcrank splash art so credit goes to the person at Riot who did this, or failing that just the person who created it!

Anyway, back to the process I went through to make this, since I'm supposed to document this kind of stuff, the first step was do a quick sketch combining the 2 images together, seen here:

Producing a finer outline resulted in a more refined and defined outline:

After this it was time to work on a colour scheme and after producing a few rough drafts I sent them to a few friends involved with the idea to pick one out:

Some of the sketches that involved more silver didn't really feel like Blitzcrank to me, since one of his main features is of course is his golden colour scheme. Hence why the last one was picked, since it was primarily golden, but still had that chromatic Thor feel to it.

Unfortunately, when it came down to the texturing, colouring and refining, I didn't really produce any screenshots since I was getting into the swing of things and obviously got a bit too caught up to document it, so unfortunately it's kind of a final jump to the finished design above.

Anyway, hope you all approve of it, once again kudos to Blizzard Entertainment and Riot Games for the production of both games and characters.
